Sitting with the Sun.
On days like this, when time seems to move as slow as an old 'Bajaj' bike struggling to make it to the closest filling station; and sleep feels like the only remedy to this aching boredom that being alone brings, I remember how beautiful life was living on campus.
Sade and I would talk about the guy with the 'divinely chiseled' jaw line and how his friends spend the whole day playing cards. We'd laugh at Chinonso as she stamped her feet across the room cooking not one, but three meals at once–her usuals were Jollof rice, beans and ponmo stew(sometimes vegetable soup)
Christy would say hello to me through my window, and I'll do the same through her window–life seemed perfect!
We spent long nights with Temi; trying out her baking recipes that somehow just ended up as puff puff. I was never really this bored.
Now, all I'm left with is the sun staring at me aggressively like I owe it money, while I listen to Ismael and Fulfillment argue about who makes the best noodles.
My neighbors aren't exactly the best company. They talk about the strangest things at even stranger times of the day, and my roomate, well, she's just never ever around, even when she's around.
I'll sit with the sun, till it eventually retires and maybe I'll just take my 5th nap of the day!

Oh! How I miss the window pleasantries.
